On Monday York County Councilman Tom Audette asked for a review of the children’s books in the York County Library System that include content on gender identity and sexuality. Audette found 138 books in the Library system that reference gender identity or sexuality in the children’s section for ages under 17. Audette is not asking for the books to be banned, instead he would like the books to be removed from the children’s section and placed in the adult section. That way parents can decide if they want their children to have access to the books.
The Herald covered the County Council meeting and there is a story available here.
If you are concerned about these books being available in the children’s section, you can file a complaint with the York County Library here.
