On May 11, 2023, the SC Senate passed H. 3728 “SOUTH CAROLINA TRANSPARENCY AND INTEGRITY IN EDUCATION ACT” by a vote of 27-10. This bill was sponsored by Reaganite, Rep. Raye Felder (R – 26) and effectively prohibits the teaching of critical race theory in South Carolina public schools. The bill will now head to Governor McMaster to be signed into law.
