In York County, voters now have a two-month window to consider their choices across 21 federal, state, and local races scheduled for the June 11 primary, according to the South Carolina Election Commission.
Six races are slated for primaries, with a runoff scheduled for June 25 if no candidate secures a majority. The six races with primaries are:

York County Council District 2
A total of 37 candidates filed before the April 1 deadline. Notably, the sheriff’s race initially saw two Republican candidates, including incumbent Kevin Tolson and his wife Beth Bryant Tolson. However, Sheriff Tolson has since withdrawn from the race.
