March 30, 2023

On March 29, 2023, the SC House passed H. 4066 which “changes the formula for determining how many delegates each county may elect to the State convention.”

Under the proposed law, each county will receive three delegates plus a pro rata share of 845 delegates based on each county population.

The law also requires any protest to a primary election be accompanied by a surety bond, not to exceed $750.00 and any appeals of a primary protect must be taken directly to the SC Supreme Court.
